Zaros

Zaros: is a traditional village with beautiful squares and paths, some very old watermills, a beautiful lake with a playground, taverna, cafe and access to Rouvas gorge. There are many shops mini markets, tavernas (some of them serve fresh trout), cafes and many more. The factory of famous bottled water "Zaros" is established in the area.

Votomos Zaros lake: created in 1987 to store the village's natural spring water, today attracts many visitors for its beautiful landscape and access to the Rouvas gorge. There is a taverna and a cafe with a big playground, small roads among olive trees and view to the sourrinding mountainous background.






Accommodation: some hotels are established in the area.

Kamilari Tholos Tomb

Kamilari Tholos Tomb:  outside the village after a couple of km you will find the tomb. You can access the last part through a small rocky road but the last hundreds meters are accessible only by foot. Kokkinos Pyrgos : a small village by the sea with a small port and a long, wide sandy beach with shallow waters. There is a supermarket, mini market, several tavernas, restaurants, cafes and apartments for rental. Places to eat:  There are severas tavernas, restaurants and cafes. Beach : The beach is very wide and long and visitors can use the sunbeds and umbrellas to enjoy their stay at the beach. There is place for parking. Location:  approx. 67km south west of Heraklion.
